Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson commit to Honda Classic

Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson have committed to playing the Honda Classic later this month at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Fowler and Mickelson join defending champion Sungjae Im of South Korea, Brooks Koepka, Daniel Berger and Max Homa, among others, in the field. The tournament runs March 18-21.

“Phil is a true legend, a generational player that everybody loves to follow and cheer for,” tournament executive director Ken Kennerly said. “We are fortunate to have him join us again this year at The Honda Classic. And getting a commitment from Rickie alongside of Phil is a magical announcement for our event.”

Fowler won The Honda Classic in 2017 and finished second in 2019 and sixth in 2016.

Mickelson, who is having a home built and moving to nearby Jupiter in the coming months, has won 44 times on the PGA Tour. He’s playing in the tournament for the first time since 2016.
