Two women shot outside Toronto bar, man wounded in separate shooting

Three people were shot in two separate incidents in Toronto early Sunday.

Two women were shot at about 2:30 a.m. outside of Greens Bar and Restaurant on Oakwood Ave. near Vaughan Rd. south of Eglinton Ave. W.

“We received a call for a shooting where multiple shots were fired as people were leaving the bar,” Toronto Police Const. Alex Li said, adding several shell casings were found at the scene.

“A male was seen running with a gun,” he added.

Paramedics took two women in their 20s to hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Li said it’s too soon in the investigation to say if the women were targeted or mere bystanders who were injured.

The second shooting happened at about 3 a.m. in the Bathurst and College Sts. area.

“Police located a male victim with a gunshot wound (believed to be in the leg) and he was transported to hospital,” Li said.

“We have a suspect seen running south on Bathurst (in laneways).”

The gunman is described as black, between 20 and 30 years old and wearing a black hoodie.

Police are looking for video surveillance.
