Striker Callum Smith admits he was shocked to learn that teammate Rhys McCabe took the job of Airdrie's manager over the summer, but life at the Diamonds I love
After Ian Murray and assistant Scott Agnew moved to Championship side Wraith his Rovers, McCabe took over the role of player his boss.
But Smith says McCabe's style of play is fun to play and he looks forward to slamming in goals to help Airdrie win the championship.
He said:
"It was a bit of a shock when it was first announced, but since the first day of preseason, it's been pretty easy.
"We've been doing really well. , I think it got easier, but so far all positive.
"Overall , this season has been very good.The director gives us instructions on what he wants us to do and we follow them.
"We all pass the ball well and enjoy playing soccer. The boys work hard and it was fun to play."

Smith scored in the opening game at Peterhead in a 2-0 victory, before finishing in the final. A batted 19 hopes to come closer to Queens Park in the end as Airdrie chased play-off promotion to the Championship.
But he said:
"I'm happy with one so far, but I want to get more every week and contribute as much as I can to the team.
"Even from the bench, everyone Scored a goal.The manager said that players came on from the bench and scored, just like last week's game against Falkirk, but it was a real team effort.

Smith added:
``Alloa have always been good in this league, but they play a normal game, put the ball down and pass. Hopefully, you will come out victorious.”
