Anonymous neighbors accuse couple of animal cruelty for leaving cat in drive

A pet rescue couple in Leicestershire were horrified to learn that their neighbors had reported 'animal abuse'.

Anonymous individuals claimed Fay Massey and Brian Helliwell left the "depressed" cat outside on "hard ground."

Both her 72-year-old couple received a letter earlier this month claiming neighbors were "monitoring" their driveway.

They suggested that pets should enjoy the "comforts of home" instead.

The writer even claims to have reported Faye and Brian to numerous animal rights groups, comparing the "abuse" to leaving a child in the driveway all day.

But the bewildered couple said that their six 'free-spirited' cats, like most cats across Britain, entered and exited the house at will via cat flaps. Say you can.

Fearing that an anonymous writer would try to take their pet, Faye and Brian reported the letter to the police. This suggests that claims that a neighbor is "monitoring" a couple are akin to "harassment or stalking."

The retired pair now have the person come forward and offer to open the house to prove the animals are well taken care of.

Wigston Faye, a native, said, ``I couldn't believe this letter.

"You don't even know about cats, how can you say that?"

She adds that animals can come and go as they please. He continued: The reason people move here for months and say, "I don't think you care for animals," is because they sit in front of you.

``If they want to come to the house and see how the cats live, they can stop by all night. "Is called.

The letter read:

"I often drive by at different times of the day and see everyone sitting there, not in the comfort of home as it should be. ''

continued: Cats, but this is not their way of life. One of them in particular she looks really young.

``These cats have no personality. They look depressed because they are on hard soil all day. In comparison, the writer of the letter issued an ultimatum: "Keep the cats indoors. Be careful, I have and will continue to monitor the driveway." Please… (or) take them to a cattery or animal charity that gives them the life they deserve in a warm and comfortable home.

Especially if you have at least three cats. '

Despite suggestions that every cat should have only one 'rotten' food bowl, the couple reportedly kept multiple bowls of fresh food and water. say. For your pet every day, inside or outside the home.

Brian added: "Everyone here knows that Fay is Dr. Dolittle. Fey cares for all the animals on this planet. I wish I could have them all.

"The person who sent this knows nothing about cats. Animals, especially cats, cannot be locked up.

"That is abuse. Keep them locked up.”

Disputing to an anonymous neighbor, he added:

"If they don't want to endorse it, why don't you come and say your name."
