Ayrshire'sfirst private menopause clinic to open this fall.
Menopause Health Matters on Ayr's Miller Road provides a safe place for people going through menopause to get support, advice and treatment.
Her 55-year-old clinical from Aire, her director, Maggie Holloway, says that she is a patient experiencing life-changing symptoms, such as when she hit menopause at age 45. I realized that there is a gap in treatment and care.
Symptoms of menopause HRT (hormone replacement therapy) replaces hormones that a woman's body has stopped producing to relieve symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, dizziness, anxiety and memory loss.
Now, Maggie is immersed in research and after engaging specially trained GPs to help women understand what is happening in their bodies and what their treatment options are. I set up a clinic to talk and reassure myself that I am not alone.

Menopause Health Matters GPs specialize in all things menopause and HRT and can be prescribed privately or through NHS personal GPs.
Despite the fear some women face from taking HRT, Maggie stands by it, stating that she is "incredibly safe." I'm here.
"It helps me live a really happy and healthy life," she added.
Formerly helping run a theater production company, Maggie spent eight years suffering from severe dizziness, I lived with dreadful symptoms of nausea, blurred vision, joint pain, indigestion, acid reflux, anxiety, and was eventually treated with HRT.
And within five weeks of receiving her treatment, she felt like she was back to her old self and all her symptoms had disappeared.
} She said: Terrible joint pain; I kept dropping cups and kettles.
``I felt nauseous all the time. – I have never had confidence issues before.
Get out of the car and into the building. No, I was just worried.
``I was wondering what was wrong with it
``That's horrible. it was a way of life. I wasn't me anymore
She added: "Women's health needs to be a higher priority."
