A British man was shot dead in Costa Rica. Police arrested him after his Nicaraguan girlfriend confessed to shooting him in a row "to scare him." and is described as being British.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in an apartment building in Pueblo Nuevo, Alajuela state, in the north-central part of Costa Rica, which borders Nicaragua to the north.
Police only released information about yesterday's shooting because Monday was a bank holiday in the area.

The results of her autopsy have not yet been made public.
No one was immediately reachable at the OIJ, one of Costa Rica's primary law enforcement agencies believed to be handling the case today.
The apartment where the shooting took place is said to be part of a mansion called Ana Bolena, owned by the dead man.
Police have seized the gun and are analyzing it.
