BREAKING: Two teenagers charged with murdering 16-year-old boys stabbed to death a mile apart

Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of two 16-year-old boys in London.

Charlie Bartolo and Kearne Solanke were found stabbed to death just a mile apart in Greenwich, South East London on November 26.

Metropolitan Police were called at about 5.10pm to reports of a stabbing, and despite the best efforts from emergency services both boys were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old and 15-year-old will appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court today charged with their murders.

Previously, Detective Superintendent Richard McDonagh, from the South East Command Unit which includes Greenwich, said: “Tackling violence is a priority for the Met.

"Days like today show why that work is so important, and why I must again ask all of London’s communities to work with us, and our partners, so that we are doing all that we can together to prevent such tragedies."
