Brighton sign full-back Parvis Estupinan from Villarreal

Brighton have signed Ecuadorian full-back Pervis Estopinan to a deal until June 2027.

The 24-year-old arrives from La Liga side Villarreal, subject to international clearance, on undisclosed terms.

His arrival came after Brighton sold left-back Mark Cucurella to Chelsea.

Head his coach Graham Potter said on the club's website:

“In addition to his international experience, he has played in the Champions League and Europa League for Villarreal and has a lot of experience in La Liga. I will help him settle down here in England, but I am looking forward to working with him and seeing him in action in the Premier League.”

After playing for LDU Quito in his home country, Estopinan is Signed with Watford in 2016.

He spent his four seasons on loan in Granada, Almeria, Mallorca and Osasuna in Spain before joining Villarreal permanently. 2020.

In his 26 appearances for Ecuador, Estupinan helped Unai Emery's side win the Europa League in their first season, while at Villarreal he made 74 appearances.

The Brighton goalkeeper Scherpen moved to Dutch club Vitesse, where he moved to Arnhem on his loan for the season.

The 22-year-old joined Albion from Ajax last summer and made his FA debut last season in his Cup third-round win against Brom.

He spent the rest of the campaign on loan at Belgian side Ostend, where he was called up to the Dutch national team in June following an injury to Tim Krul.

Seagulls goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts said:

"He was called up to his senior Dutch squad this summer, which means he will have the chance to play regularly ahead of his World Cup this year."
