'Britain's Most Ridiculous Bike Lane' has been removed after a 3-meter stretch of road was ridiculed online.
Peertree Lane in the West Midlandsin the Netherton area of Dudley held the unofficial title of the most hilarious bike lane in the country.
However, the much derided lane has finally been removed.
The road itself was only 3 meters long and did not connect to other bike routes.
The small box was green with a white border andan image of a bicycle.
It was across from Blackbrook Road, near the little bridge over the Dudley Canal.
Dudley Council said the lane was part of a former cycling route.
Since then, however, it has seemed completely out of place on industrial roads lined with offices and commercial facilities and rarely used by cyclists.
The local authority said it was scheduled to be removed on Wednesday.
