Celebrity SAS star Curtis Pritchard 'gutted' after losing challenge against brother AJ

Curtis Pritchard says he was “gutted” to be booted off Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins last night after losing a challenge against brother AJ.

The Love Island star, 26, got his marching orders in the Jordan desert when Strictly dancer AJ, 27, bested him in composure trials.

Speaking after no-nonsense instructor Rudy Reyes took back his armband, Curtis said: “AJ did beat me and they did say the person that lost would go home, and I was the person that lost against AJ, so I did go home.

“I respect the decision. But I was gutted. I was heartbroken. I mentally and physically know I was not ready to leave. I’m sure the DS had their reasons. Am I happy with them and their reasons? Not at all.”

During his brief stint, Curtis suffered a permanent scar on his head and tore the skin under his fingernails – making even tying his shoelaces agony. “I was dying inside every time I did it,” he said.

He also shed a stone due to the lack of carbs in their diet, saying: “All the water drops off you. Then you start burning fat. You’re constantly in a calorie deficit.”

Ex-sprinter Dwain Chambers, 44, was also axed last night after an injury hit his performance.

The remaining contestants include reality star Ferne McCann, 32, boxer Shannon Courtenay, 29, and former Olympic javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread, 61.
