China has opened secret police stations around the world - including two in London

The Chinese government has opened hundreds of secret police stations in other countries without any permission from world leaders – including two in London.

According to a report in Investigative Journalism Reportika, local sources have claimed the controversial country has opened the posts with the intention of “cracking down on global and multinational crimes”.

The report claims several of these outposts have been opened under the name of the “Fuzhou Police Overseas Service Station”.

They can, so far, be found in London, Glasgow, Holland, Ireland, Canada – which has three – New York, Portugal, four in Italy, three in Paris, at least eight in Spain as well as many more around the world.

The stations have been opened with the intention of helping Chinese people living abroad in giving police reports about Chinese nationals to actual local police stations, and the Safeguard Defenders organisation claims around 230,000 people have been sent to China via these stations.

Richard Perle, former United States Assistant Secretary of Defense for Global Strategic Affairs, said: “National sovereignty is an obligation as well as an entitlement.

“A government that will not perform the role of a government forfeits the rights of a government.”

According to a slightly dodgy translation of a Chinese news website: “There are more than 4.3 million overseas Chinese of Fuzhou nationality all over the world.

“On January 10 this year, the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau took the lead in opening the overseas 110 alarm service desk in the countries, providing high-quality services for overseas Chinese living in Fuzhou to call for help.”

In short, if you dial 110 on your phone, you'll get through to the Chinese foreign-based police stations.

The actual locations of the two based in London is currently unknown, but the Daily Star has contacted Downing Street for a comment on the matter.
