Conor McGregor's recent outbursts at UFC legend blamed on star's "loneliness"

UFC legend Michael Bisping has suggested that "loneliness" could be the reason for Conor McGregor 's recent Twitter outbursts.

Whilst boasting about recently filming his Hollywood debut, McGregor labelled other fighters who are trying to get into acting as "little twerps" and specifically took aim at Bisping in the unprovoked attack. Bisping warned McGregor to make sure he has bodyguards around the next time they see each other, which prompted the Irishman to reply with a threatening voice note.

"Do you want to go to war, man, yeah?" McGregor said to Bisping." "Do you want to go to f***ing war? I'll go to war with you, yeah. Security you little sausage of a thing, I'll have security set you up, where do you stay when you're in Vegas again, pal? Little Apex f**** pad. Keep my name out of your f***ing mouth in any type of threatening behaviour, or I'll walk through your front door."

Theorising a reason behind McGregor's Twitter outbursts, Bisping said on his podcast : "The level of fame that he reached is astronomical and it’s very, very rare. You’re talking about big-time A-listers. There’s a lot of people at that level, but to achieve it is f***ing very rare. I do find, as I know a few people like that, they do get lonely. They can’t go anywhere, they can’t trust people, so I don’t know if that’s the case with him or whatever. He doesn’t have a community, he’s still got tons of fans, you can’t deny that.”

McGregor hasn't fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight last July. The former two-weight champion is targeting a return to the octagon in the first quarter of next year, which means three years would have passed since his last win by the time he fights again.

Bisping admitted that he was dumbfounded when he first saw McGregor's tweet about him, adding: "I was just befuddled. I'm like, 'Where's this coming from? What's that all about?' God bless him, I'm actually on set in Bulgaria and we stopped for a little break and I looked at my phone and someone had shown me that on DM.

"I wasn't annoyed or anything, just scratching my head going, 'Where's that coming from out of the blue?' Look, God bless him, he's doing his first acting thing, it's a big deal and he's all pumped about it... He's all excited, he's had his first beer and he's doing a big show with Jake Gyllenhaal, god bless him. Good for f***ing you. Well done. Why have you got to throw s*** my way? I don't get it."
