Mrs. Launders, 75, immediately complained to the front desk about the state of the room and broke down in tears over the shocking situation, reports the Mirror..

We stayed because there were no rooms available or the location was too expensive, but the hotel said they would refund us when we left. Decided to leave and was told a refund would be issued, but they changed their tune. I said "no" to and told Booking.com to sort it out where we booked. It just ruined our holiday.

Mr. Londers added: Being in a hotel meant we didn't have a good vacation.

Regarding the refund issue, the hotel manager told NottinghamshireLive that he had not been asked for a refund "in the right way". Mrs Landers told the news site that she had properly asked the hotel staff for a refund.
