Scottish holiday couple 'unbelievable luck' after seeing northern lights earlier in the year

Aholidaying couple in Scotland was delighted to spot the aurora early in the season. Michelle Brennan, 49, and her partner John, 55, were given an added bonus on a trip to their new vacation home in Caithness when they spotted a green glow on the horizon.

Stoke, Staffordshire The two of her, living in Trent on Her On Her, purchased a villa in the village of Lacellon in November after visiting Scotland on holiday every year for the past twenty years.

"We spent most of our time on the West Coast," Michelle explained. "We were visiting Glendale on the Isle of Skye, knowing that the Northern Lights are often seen during the winter months. We were lucky not to see one."

A recent trip up North changed everything. Michelle, the Deputy Elementary School Conservation Officer, called to warn of a possible Northern Lights.

She added: We went out to the backyard around 11:30pm. The sky had just cleared from the clouds and the stars were all peeking out.

"I could see a haze that looked a little green, but it wasn't.

The couple decided to check again after returning home for tea. An agitated Michelle remarks: "The picture, I saw the picture and it was green on the screen, I almost peed.

"Then with the naked eye I thought I was screaming in the garden and peeing in excitement.When I woke up my bloodied neighbor, my husband told me I was right.

" We couldn't believe our luck.For the first time in my life, I saw the bloody Aurora Borealis in my backyard with the naked eye in August."

Uncommon in August, but in Scotland They are called millie dancers.

Glad to share the news with others, Michelle suggests her place to the locals. Posted on a Facebook group to direct people arriving by car. We've only been to the property four times since February, but we're so lucky to see them last night and again in August!"
