Cumbernauld Colts boss David Proctor said after striker Ewan McPherson scored a hat-trick in the first half in a comfortable 5-2 win over Dalbeattie Starr, ``he saw He said it produced one of the best individual plays ever.
After he suffered three losses to Rowland to start his league season, the Colts began this campaign with his one-week winning streak.
They backed that up by beating East Stirlingshire 3-2 mid-last week and smashing the stars at Islecroft on Saturday.
The Colts were leading 5–1 at halftime, but the hosts scored the only goal of the second half. The Colts also ejected Dylan Tennant late.
However, Proctor was overwhelmed by the opposing team's play and praised the striker.
He smiled broadly.
"It was great to lead 5-1 at halftime.
"We set the bar so high in the first half that Dalbeatty was always casting his counterattack spell.
"Yuan produced one of the best individual performances I've seen in 45 minutes.
" He was playing wider, but he was beating his opponents and cutting inside, so he got an assist and a hat-trick. Having moved up to 12th place, Proctor hopes the team will start improving in the back after conceding 15 goals in five games.
He added:
"The first three games are the teams that are very likely to be in the top ranks heading into the end of the season [Rangers B, Tranent and Bo'ness] was always very difficult
The Colts will sit out this weekend, idle in the 19-team division, and begin preparations for the South Challenge Cup against Cowdenbeath on August 20.
"I always want to keep the momentum going and rack up the wins," said the 38-year-old.
