A man has taken to the internet to share the mistakes that he made which has left his wife too embarrassed to drop their child off at school. While he says that his mistakes were just innocent slip ups, he has left some social media users torn.
The couple were prepping for their daughter's sixth birthday party, with the man in charge of the cake and the gift bags. The party planning got off to a bad start, with the supermarket misspelling the birthday girl's name, adding an 'h' onto the end, which the dad did not spot.
He was able to deal with this however, as it was the last letter which meant it could be scraped off without disrupting the cake too much. While things appeared to be getting back on track, there was soon to be another blunder on his part.
As he could tell that his wife was already stressed by the cake mistake, he went to his young daughter to ask her what the most important thing for her party was, writes the Mirror. She wanted him to make sure that everyone got gift bags.
Writing on the popular forum site Reddit the man explained: "I found all the candy and toys and what I thought were the bags they were supposed to go into. So I made up the bags, my daughter helps, and she thinks they look great and she's happy with them."
Guests started arriving and everybody was having a nice time until the six-year-old reminded her parents about the party bags they needed to hand out at the end of the day. The dad said: "My wife panics thinking she forgot about them but she says 'don't worry, dad made them' and she looked so relieved until I got the box."
His wife took one look at the party bags and ran into the bedroom crying - but refused to tell him what she was so upset about, leaving him scratching his head.

He said: "I followed her and find her sitting on the bed crying. She's so embarrassed. Why? She won't say. I'm not sure what to do because people are trying to leave and they're confused as to what's going on. I then I just take over 'goodbye' duty and hand out the bags to kids at the door and say bye with my daughter.
"Well, halfway through doing that my wife came back out and took the box from me and brought it into the bedroom and threw it on the ground. She finally tells me 'those are dog poop bags' and basically I'm stupid and I've ruined all the hard work she put into the party"
He tried to explain to his wife how nobody would know they're poo bags because they're "just small pink bags with hearts on them" - and how their daughter wasn't concerned about it.
"I tell her 'It's not like they're dirty - they're small bags like any other bags'. She says she's so mortified she doesn't even want to show her face at the school anymore," he added. I've been bringing my daughter to school every day this week, which has been making me late for work.
"My wife will barely even speak to me even though my daughter thinks everything was fine. She laughed when I told her they were really dog poop bags. My wife got even more mad at me for telling her. I told my wife she needs to chill and she basically said I was a huge a***hole and she's mad that I don't think it's a big deal."
While some users claimed the woman was being too "dramatic" about the entire situation, others said she was likely pushed to this reaction after a day of "screw ups".
One user said: "I think the wife is probably overreacting because this was the last straw on a big pile of apathetic f*** ups by her husband."
In agreement, another user added: "The bags weren't the real problem, but yet another symptom of a deeper underlying problem. We all crack sometimes."
While a third user said: "He sounds like he was doing the majority of work actually. If the party was that important to his wife, then why weren’t the gift bags done already, and why was everything so last minute? She sounds like she’s less mature than the kid."
