Darts star Peter Wright shares photo from hospital

World Champion Peter Wright shared snaps before he was put under the knife in the hospital. Scotsman was diagnosed with gallstones earlier this year and has taken some time off from darts to focus on his health.

He has now undergone procedures to remove them and as a result will be excluded from his series of World Darts events in Australia and New Zealand. The 52-year-old tweeted a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed while awaiting surgery. "Australia & Sorry to all the fans who were expecting to see me in New Zealand. But I had to choose between health and darts. Unfortunately for my fans I health won.I'm very nervous but @jowrighty8 is by my side as always."

Wright, 52, played in Blackpool last month. He spoke about his condition as he advanced to the quarter-finals ahead of World Matchplay. "At the UK Open, I felt like I could win that tournament. It was a great feeling," he explained. “I was playing against Joe Cullen and I walked into the practice area about three hours before the match and I couldn't get up to throw a dart. I didn't throw a dart until a minute ago.I was in pain and was about to pull it out.It's not good.It happened at the Players Championship when I didn't have a dart before.Sleep for a week or so."

He added: They have space with a surgeon.The doctor wants keyhole surgery to remove my gallbladder.

Wright will replace Dimitri Van den in the Queensland Darts Masters, New South Wales Darts Masters and New Zealand Darts Masters. Berg. "While I am devastated to have to miss my visit to Australia and New Zealand, I have to undergo further medical examinations and put my health first.
