Diane Keaton has a word or two about tripping overpsychedelics.
The 76-year-old Oscar-winner, who stars in the newly released film Mac & Rita, is onJust for Variety Wednesday's On the podcast, she shared her thoughts on magic mushrooms.
When asked when was the last time she photographed a mushroom, Keaton replied, "No, thank you! That was never my involvement at all. I missed it."
In the new film, which hits theaters on August 12, there is a scene in which Keaton's Rita trips over a psilocybin mushroom. But for actressAnnie Hall, she's always on hallucinogens and a glass of wine.
"I like a glass of wine with ice," she said. "I don't want to go there. I like ice and it's fun, but no, it's not fun. It's scary. I agree that it's fun to act like you're on board, but it's far from the real thing. I don't want to let go of the idiots.”
In April 2021, while filming Mac & Rita, she wore a snake-skin dress on set. A photo of Keaton wearing thigh-high boots went viral. While her fans have spurred her style, Keatonrecently toldVogue that she felt her thigh-high look was "silly." said.
"That's not attractive. Those legs are like sticks. That's so ridiculous!" she said. "So I hope it's funny. I hope people realize how ridiculous it is. The girls in the background (Elizabeth Lail and Taylor Page) are both going to be big stars." And I'm an idiot on her last leg.
