Donald Trump dumps torn document in White House toilet, new photo shows

A photo appeared to show torn papers in the bathroom of President Donald Trump's White House.

If proven, photographs released by New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman could showTrump's attempt to destroy documents.

AxiosA photo shared with him shows two different toilets with what appears to be Trump's handwriting. One of them is believed to be in the White House, and the other is from a trip the president spent abroad.

Haberman said, "Mr Trump's destruction of documents in this way was not well known within his West wing, but several aides said he had repeatedly done so. I was aware of the habits I had," he claims.

She told MSNBC: "[85] Donald Trump exposes points in many of these classified documents." A large number of documents were reportedly taken to the National Archives.

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) states: After speaking with President Trump's representatives in 2021, we transferred the property of Mar-a-Lago, Florida, to the National Archives in 15 boxes containing the president's records.

Under the Presidential Records Act, the president of the United States is legally obligated not to destroy evidence. Trump reportedly had a habit of tearing up documents when leaving meetings, and an aide had to tape them together to send to the National Archives.

According to prosecutors, the former president "wrongfully retained presidential records that are the property of the United States and form part of the permanent historical record of the previous administration."

President Trump's presidency has been under scrutiny since it ended, after it ended in a nasty and alarming assault on the Capitol in Washington, D.C. by rioting Trump supporters.
