EastEnders’ Jaz Singh Deol unrecognisable following dramatic hair makeover – after filming Kheerat’s shock exit

EASTENDERS fans have been left doing a double take after Jaz Singh Deol was pictured following his shock exit from Albert Square.

The soap actor played businessman Kheerat Panesar in the BBC soap and was seen leaving Walford after calling the cops in November.

After filming his final scenes, Jaz was pictured at the opening gala for this year's Raindance Festival in London.

And he looked totally different after chopping off his long hair.

During his time in EastEnders, Jaz's character Kheerat wore his locks in a black turban.

Fans were only given a peek of his tresses in October, when Ravi Gulati yanked his turban off during a scuffle in the Queen Vic pub.

For all other scenes, Kheerat's hair was covered up.

But since leaving Albert Square, Jaz has cut his long salt and pepper coloured hair short.

He showed off his new look while posing for pictures on the red carpet at the Raindance Festival.

Jaz starred on EastEnders as Kheerat for three years before quitting the BBC soap.

In his final scenes, Kheerat was shown making the shock decision to confess to Ranveer Gulati’s murder in the hope of saving his mum from life in prison.

But when Suki found out about his plan, she slapped him and demanded he stop his plans.

“You’re not just my son,” she told him.

His mind could not be changed, however, and he was later seen saying goodbye to girlfriend Stacey Slater.

He told her: “I’ve called the police - they’re on their way. If my mum goes to prison then my entire family falls apart and I can’t let that happen. I’m just sorry.”

After an emotional goodbye with Stacey, Kheerat went outside and told Eve that his mum will need her, before he was surrounded by police.

The BBC confirmed he was gone for good, with a spokeswoman saying: “We can confirm that Jaz has left EastEnders and we wish him all the very best for the future.”
