EastEnders spoilers: Fans devastated as soap bosses reveal heartbreaking Lola storyline; plus Corrie and Emmerdale news

The hit soap has announced it is working with Brain Tumour Research and Macmillan Cancer Support to put together an accurate and heartwrenching storyline for Lola, played by Danielle Harold.

Speaking about taking on the powerful storyline, the 30-year-old actress said: "It means so much to be trusted with a storyline like this, one that's close to many people's hearts."

Since finding out the news, fans have taken to social media to express their sadness, with one saying: "Knowing what she is about to go through is making me cry so much. She is a beautiful and well-written character who'll be missed massively. WE LOVE YOU LOLA!"

While another added: "Lola’s storyline is going to be so heartbreaking."

    She added: “So they hadn’t even decided on a girl’s name. They left it as a surprise.”
