The Earl of Wessex delivered a key speech at the closing ceremony of his Games at the 22nd Commonwealth in Birmingham last night. I was. Prince Edward, 58, has praised athletes, organizers, supporters and volunteers for their work in England's second-largest city.

However, Australia won 178 medals, including 67 gold.
Scotland won a total of 51 medals, two short of the total achieved in Glasgow in 2014.
Northern Ireland won her 18 medals and Wales also won her 28.
The Commonwealth Games will take place in 2026 when the athletes land in Victoria, Australia.
