England pair Adrian Waller and Alison Waters had to win silver at the Commonwealth Games in mixed doubles in squash.
New Zealand pair Paul Cole and Joel King delivered his 11-3 11-6 winner, whose supporters celebrated with an impromptu haka at the University of Birmingham's Hockey and Squash Centre.
Her only cause for concern was that her champion Kol caught King with a racket and left her with a severe bruise under her left eye.
Waller said:
"But they played a great match. I can't complain because they deserved it.
"It's not a shame in that sense, but we missed our chance.
The pair could upgrade silver to gold in further doubles action on Monday.

Waller will team up with Daryl Selby in the men's doubles doubles against fellow Englanders James Willstrop and Declan James, before Waters and Sarah-Jane James. Perry will face the New Zealand pair of King and Amanda Landers-Murphy in the women's doubles. Last.
