Fairlop Waters: The body found in search of a 17-year-old boy who went swimming in the lake

The body was found during a search for a teenage boy who disappeared after swimming in the Fairlop Waters lake in Ilford.

Immediately after 12:30 am on Monday, an emergency service was called to the scene.

Police confirmed that the body was found this morning by police officers, London Emergency Services, the London Fire Brigade, and a professional driver.

A police helicopter was also called into a lake in East London.

A 17-year-old family member was notified.
