Fire breaks out at derelict Fife hotel, prompting locals to evacuate area

An abandoned Scottish hotel inFife caught fire tonight, prompting locals to evacuate the area.

Scottish Fire and Rescue is currently at the site of the derelict Lundin Links Hotel in Leven, trying to fight the flames piercing the roof.

Smoke rises from the wooden Tudor buildings and orange flames light up the region's night sky.

A large emergency response is underway at the hotel, summoning seven crew members, specialized equipment and advanced equipment.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 8:36 p.m., there were reports of a fire in a derelict building on Leven Road, Lundin Links.

Locals have shared photos of the scene where large fires were visibly visible.

Tall vehicles and 2 Deploy two specialized resources to the scene:

"There have been no reports of casualties and crew members remain on site."

Onlookers are shocked by what happened tonight.
