Firefighters 'spray intense heat on drunken neighbors' in violent parking war

A fierce fight erupts in a cramped village street over where a woman parked her two motorhomes.

Firefighter Michelle Vickers, 32, was allegedly attacked in a drunken rage by her neighbor, girlfriend Kim Fowles, and abused and yelled at.

Fowles' boyfriend Stephen Burton, 54, was also involved in the controversy, grabbing the ladder on which Mr. Vickers' partner William Longley, 35, was standing and throwing him off.

It is also said that Barton threatened to shoot a rival couple, despite not having a gun.

Fowles and Barton justified themselves in court that she had left a VW Transporter van and another camper outside a terraced house in Malpas, Cheshire, where she said Ms. I was intimidated," he said.

In retaliation, Ms. Vickers sprayed the assailant with a can of intense heat before rushing inside to get the police involved.

Ms. Vickers was not injured by Fowles, but Mr. Longley was plagued by threats from Fowles last month, she said.

Both Fowles and Barton pleaded guilty to threatening conduct before the Chester Magistrate's Court.

Attorney Stevie Lam, representing Fowles, said: Parking is pretty sparse.

"A terraced house with only one row of parking spaces available to residents.

"Park three or even four cars on a non-neighbour's street.

"This includes vans and campers, but not small cars. It's been an ongoing problem for quite some time."

Justice of the Peace Tim Mann condemned the "unnecessary" clashes, stating:

``Unfortunately, if parking is tight, so is parking.

"To take this to court is unnecessary, wrong and causing problems for all involved."

Fowles said. He was conditionally released for 12 months and ordered to pay Ms Vickers £100. Compensation plus cost of £119 plus surcharge for victims.

Barton was fined her £120 and paid Mr Longley her compensation of £100 and her £123 costs.
