Foster mom left feeling 'empty' after adopted son died 'no one wanted'

Foster parents say they miss'smiles and laughter'after adoptive son's death, once called 'the baby no one wanted' .

Callum suffered from a number of health problems, including visual and hearing impairments, due to being neglected and severely injured at a young age, YorkshireLive reported.

Callum, who was not expected to live more than two years, died in April of this year at the age of 27.

His adoptive parents, Beryl and Murray Horton, say their lives now feel "empty."

Callum suffered a severe brain injury at a young age, leaving him blind, deaf and in need of a wheelchair.

He was found "apparently dead" in the home of his parents, Mark Chamberlain and Gail Woodward, in 1995. it was done. He took Callum to the hospital, and Judge John Shand gave the pair his two-year probation,Derbyshire Live reports.

Beryl said: All we could do was comfort him and love him.We took him everywhere.Raising a boy like Callum was a 24/7 thing.

``Life is so empty. He's not there to smile at you. I couldn't do it either, but he was a cheeky little soul.I really miss his smile and laughter.We still talk to him every day as if he was still here."{93

Callum lived much longer than doctors had predicted, with partial recovery of his sight and hearing.

The Hortons are well known for helping people with special needs in their hometown of Willington, Derbyshire. The couple ran his CREST group in Burton for his 40 years. Closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
