Four words in royal's Frogmore Cottage statement that'll leave Harry and Meghan furious

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be left fuming after Buckingham Palace admitted that they’ve left the Sussexes with a bum deal after the Sussexes paid for improvements to Frogmore Cottage.

Yesterday, it was announced that the couple had finally been booted out of Frogmore Cottage and handed the keys to King Charles, six months after they were told they needed to leave.

Sir Michael Stevens, the Keeper of the Privy Purse, has confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who now live in California, had left the five-bedroom property.

But the former working royals were likely left incensed after hearing the royal beancounter’s statement where he admitted that they were leaving behind a “greatly enhanced asset.”

The Sussexes spent £2.4 million renovating the property

“We will not be going into any detail on those arrangements here, save to say that as has previously been stated, the Duke and Duchess have paid for the expenditure incurred by the Sovereign Grant in relation to the renovation of Frogmore Cottage, thus leaving the Crown with a greatly enhanced asset,” he wrote.

The eviction comes after months of speculation as to how Meghan and Harry would be remunerated after spending millions of pounds on renovations to the cottage.

The couple initially borrowed an estimated £2.4 million in taxpayer money to pay for the renovations to the historic cottage, which was then eventually paid back.

The King reportedly wants to move Prince Andrew into Frogmore Cottage, forcing him to give up the Royal Lodge, an enormous estate in Windsor with a 30-room home at the heart of it.

But the disgraced Duke has reportedly been kicking up a fuss for the last six months about the move, privately telling his pals that he’s refusing to budge and that he will stay there until his lease, which has up to 90 years left, is over.
