Friend of friends in tragic East Kilbride holds fundraiser to give him the send off he deserves

Fellows mourning the tragic death of Ross MacPherson, a man of Lanarkshire, have rallied to raise thousands for his funeral expenses.

A 22-year-old boy died suddenly Sunday night at his Kilbride address inEast.

That happened just days after Ross' friend Scott Carrigan, 23, died last Thursday, August 4th.

This week both families' parents paid tribute to their beloved sons,and the community continued to pay tribute.

Ross'fundraising page is a tremendous effort to support his family during this difficult time, and so far he has raised nearly £5000.

Ross, known as "Skinny" by his friends, was loved by many. Also, after the gofundme page launched yesterday, hundreds of people have already made generous donations, including the local soccer team in town.

His friend Jack McGowan wrote of his fundraiser: To give back a little and help pay for the funeral expenses.

Ross died suddenly on Sunday 7 August

``Me and Ross grew up together. We first moved to East Kilbride when we were eight and hit it off. Buddy, Skinny did a lot for everyone and touched everyone's soul.

"Skinny was loved by everyone. He was a kind and caring man, a whirlwind boy who sang and danced and just wanted to stay a little longer.

Ross is remembered as a happy and caring young man who made time for everyone he met.

Over the years. , Ross was a known dog lover and had three Boxers: Cava; I explained Neal MacPherson.

In a moving tribute to his son, Ross' parents wrote the following tribute: Happiest boy, we were a complete family.

"There was an intense moment or two as you grew into a typical teenager. But underneath it all remained a caring and loving boy."

"You fought hard with your own personal doubts and insecurities, and always fought to make the people you met happy. has become your problem.

"Ross, knowing how much love and respect you have, and how empty this world is without you, Perhaps those demons didn't get you.

"Sleep well until we are family again. Love, Mama, Daddy."

A friend paid tribute to Ross on social media: To all the boys and Ross' family. It was a pleasure to be your friend. please rest at ease.

Another wrote:

A third friend added: I wish there was more I could do to help you. You were the most caring and loving person there.

``Ross, fly high, see you someday on the other side. I've been robbed. Please rest assured with Skinny Mate," said the fourth.

Both the Ross and Scott families have stressed that they want to highlight mental health services to the local population and provide assistance where needed.
