A teenage girl was stabbed and left to die in a brutal attack, before a dog-walker found her five hours later.

The girl was attacked at around 2am in the morning, and at around 7am paramedics and police rushed to the scene after being alerted by a dog walker.

She was left to die after the violent attack in Benhall, Saxmundham, Suffolk, yesterday (Sunday) morning.

‘This is a horrible incident, but these horrible incidents can happen.

I was saddened to read about it and I hope the girl can make a speedy recovery.’

He has been taken into custody for questioning.

Forensics and officers were seen scouring the scene close to the junction of Aldecar Lane and Benhall Green.

Police have said both the victim and suspect are known to each other.
