Lisa Banes' killer has been sentenced to up to three years in prison.
The Gone Girl actress died from head injuries in June 2021 aged 65, ten days after Brian Boyd, 27, hit her with his electric scooter before fleeing the scene.
Judge Gregory Carro in Manhattan Supreme Court revealed the sentence on Wednesday, but the exact time Boyd will spend in jail will be determined by a state parole board when it reviews the case.
It means he could be out of prison in as soon as a year's time.
Judge Carro explained how Boyd sped through a red light, struck Banes and fled to a nearby bike shop, where he had a beer.

Victoria Will/AP/REX/Shutterstock)The Washington Times reports the judge added the city "has a problem" with the motorised bikes and told how he wants to inform those who drive unregistered and unlicensed bikes they can go to jail when they do harm.
Before the sentence was announced, Boyd is reported to have said he was “extremely sorry" following the incident.
Boyd pleased guilty to manslaughter and leaving the crime scene and the judge gave him credit for admitting his guilt in a plea deal.
The DA’s office - who had asked for a sentence of three to nine years - is said to have encouraged the judge to ignore the deal after Boyd began backing off his guilty admission by claiming he used his horn to warn the pedestrian as he sped through the crosswalk.

Before the hearing, Kranhold said: "Lisa saw him coming at her, but she couldn't move fast enough, nobody could move fast enough.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg released a statement saying: "Lisa Banes was a beloved friend, family and community member whose life was tragically cut short. New York City continues to mourn her loss with them and it is my sincere hope that her loved ones are able to heal and recover."
