Grandpa fined £1,500 for parking outside his house

An angry grandpa was told to vomit over £1,500 in parking fines after a parliamentary blunder.

77-year-old Peter Lee had permission to park his Mercedes outside his home in Notting Hill, London.

But he was shocked to see yellow parking fines strewn across his windshield.

Peter was ordered to pay £1,560 for which he collected 12 parking tickets as a result of a mix-up.

A former fashion designer and pensioner was worried that her Mercedes would be towed due to a pile of fines.

He told his MyLondon: I was worried that my car would not be towed.

``I'm about to become a great grandpa for the second time. There should have been no problem in the first place.'

Peter had paid £250 for this year's parking permit, but the Kensington and Chelsea Council systems Parking officials were unaware of this due to delays in the 2019.

Local authorities have now been contacted about the matter and Peter said he did not need to pay.

A Kensington and Chelsea Council spokesperson said: Permits are valid and all tickets have been cancelled.

, no payment was made for the renewal of the renewed parking permit for the resident.

"There was a delay in processing the permit after payment and the permit was shown to be valid. Penalty notices were issued even though I hadn't been there.”

There have been many unlucky drivers this year.
