Grease Musical Stars: Telling Audiences About Dame Olivia's Death Was Unrealistic

Grease star, now in West End production, said it was "surreal" to hear about Dame Olivia Newton-John's passing between and after shows. Make it clear to the audience.

Actress Olivia Moore, who played Sandy in the musical, said that the performance was "a bag of mixed emotions" but that she was "proud to continue waving that Sandy flag.

Dame Olivia passed away peacefully Monday at her home in California at the age of 73, surrounded by friends and loved ones, her husband said. Confirmed on social media.

Moore, 26, told the PA news agency that she praised the "iconic" actress as "perfect" and that she felt her "responsibility" to carry on her legacy. she said she feels

"She was with us mentally tonight. She will be with us for the rest of the run," she said. "Tonight was a very special moment.  Many people came to my locker room to tell me. The news spread quickly.

There are so many fans, so many people who love her and love what she did...the world she created.

Ms. Moore said she returned to the stage to perform Sandy's famous song after learning the news herself. said between singing "Desperately Dedicated to You."

"I will never sing like I do now," she told her PA.

"Anyway, it's an incredibly emotional song in terms of the characters and what's going on...it's incredibly moving and very empowering." 49}

``It was a really great moment, but I felt like I was singing the same as last time.

"I was like, 'This is for her, so I can't be trash.'"

The actress described her "incredible talent." Not only did Dame Olivia seem "very humble and respectful".

"What stands out is what everyone says about her as a human that's it," she said.

``I think that's what I got from looking at her and idolizing her. I'm glad I did."
