The Sting of Greenford: A Tribute to Musician OAP, 87

An elderly man who was stabbed to death while riding his scooter in broad daylight was named Thomas O'Halloran.

An 87-year-old busker was attacked on Caton Road in Greenford,, West London, shortly after 4pm yesterday.

It is believed that he was surrounded by a band of youths before he was mortally wounded.

No arrests have been made.

Hero's neighbors rushed to save Thomas' life before paramedics arrived, but Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The killer is believed to have fled within seconds after a gruesome ambush.

Thomas was well known in the area, often riding the bus outside supermarkets and train stations with his accordion ringing. He has lived in Greenford since his 70's.

Locals say he performed to raise money for Ukrainian refugees. Some people living in the area nicknamed him "Mr. Bond", while others affectionately knew him as "Uncle Tom".

Her neighbor Anushka Burnett, 37, said:

"He's very helpful. If I'm outside cleaning up or have any tools I need, he pops them up.

" He is very kind and nice. He talks to everyone all the time. Approach him as soon as he sees you, and he will start talking to you.

According to a friend, Thomas is believed to have been heading to the pub when the attack occurred. 

His daughter is too distraught to speak today.

Frasley Coutinho, who lived on the other side of where the attack took place, saw a group of young boys gathering around an older man.
