Hamilton's business participates in votes to determine fate of future improvement plans

Businesses throughout Hamilton Town Center will participate in a vote to determine plans for the Business Improvement District for the next few years.

At a meeting of the South Lanarkshire Council's Community and Business Committee on Tuesday (9 August), Councilors voted for Hamilton for the period from November 2022 to October 2027. We endorsed the Town Center Business Improvement District (BID) proposal and agreed to proceed with its third phase. vote.

Under the BID Act, the BID must vote on all members to see if the BID Agreement should be renewed for another five years.

We will continue to work with Hamilton BID using existing Palace Grounds service fees. This totals £44,000 and will help run a range of events promoting Hamilton Town Centre.

Trustee Robert Brown, Chair of the Council's Community and Corporate Resources Committee, said:

"Since its first launch in 2012, BID has successfully implemented a business plan to support and improve Hamilton Town Center.

Various business initiatives, Christmas lights switch on, Lady Steady Gallop, It has benefited from a wide range of events including the Big Stampede, Classic Car Events, Spring to Hamilton and Real Radio Campaigns.

"If the vote is positive, I look forward to seeing what we can achieve in the next five years."
