A few hours later, police announced that they had arrested a 22-year-old man named Robert E. Climo as a person of interest.

"It sounded like fireworks were launched," said witness Richard Kaufman. "It was a mess. People were flooded with each other stumbling."
According to authorities, "several dead victims" died on the scene, but one I was injured in the hospital.
One of the murderers was a Mexican citizen, and Roberto Velasco, director of North American affairs in Mexico, said on Twitter. He added that two other Mexicans were injured in the incident.
Approximately 26 of the injured, aged 8 to 85, were sent to the North Shore University Health Center. Dr. Brigham Temple, the hospital's emergency medical officer, said all but one had gunshot wounds.

A retired doctor who stood across the street where the shooter fired said, "It sounded like the fireworks were gone."
"It was a mess," Richard Kaufman told Reuters, adding that he had heard about 200 ammunition. "People were stumbling upon each other and covered in blood."

White Sox, MLB decides to play game after parade shoot

"Our heart is in the Highland Park community," the White Sox said in a statement. "The entire Chicago White Sox organization would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of today's horrific shooting innocent victims, and to all those affected by this tragedy."

"If you are in front of you, not just in your hometown, you will definitely be hit hard," said the resident Rontu Azon. Returned to the parade route on Monday night with chairs, blankets, and a child's bicycle abandoned by him and his family when the shoot began.
