Hunt for £35,000-a-year job to work on Britain’s most remote island – but would YOU be up for it?

JOB SEEKER

THE hunt is on to find someone to work on Britain's most remote Island.

Fair Isle, which lies midway between Orkney and Shetland, needs a development manager.

The role on the Scottish island will pay £35,000 a year and offers a four-day working week.

It would be a home-based job but weekly visits to the island are expected.

The post would be with the Fair Isle Development Company, and it is being supported by isle owner National Trust for Scotland (NTS) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Fair Isle, which has been owned by the NTS since 1954, only has a population of 50 people.

Seeking an experienced development manager, candidates need to have knowledge on housing and business projects.

With plenty planned for the remote island in the coming years, the hope is to attract more tourists.

Flights to and from Kirkwall are also being planned to help people wanting to visit.

However, due to the isolation of the island, transport is an issue and poor weather sees a disruption in the community's connectivity.

They were previously searching for a teacher to educate the kids on the island.
