We compared Walmart and Dollar Tree to find the best back to school deals. there were some surprising winners

As the final weeks of summer approach, it's time to face the inevitable new school year.

A YouTuber compared school supplies at both Walmart and his Dollar Tree to find the lowest prices.

YouTuber and former teacher Kathryn, who runs the Do It On A Dime channel,shared back-to-school favorites she found at both Walmart and Dollar Tree.

"Here's something you can't get at Walmart for this price. [Item] goes back to the dorm section and school," Cathern told viewers.

She continued: "These organizational containers are $2.98 each. I love how they are rectangular and hold a lot. They have a small drop lip and handle on the front."

This YouTuber also said: Introduced viewers to great deals on stationery products.

"Check out these really [high] quality expandable pocket folders, priced at $10 to $12. This is a great back-to-school deal," she says Kathyrn. Told.

“In my opinion the best brand of pens is PaperMate. I was evaluating all the documents,” said the former teacher.

The YouTuber also recommended his favorite pen brand available at Dollar Tree.

"When you're at Dollar Tree, the pens you want are the Inc brand. These are highly rated," she said.

She continued. "When you're at Dollar Tree, there's something you really want to look for. Organizational products."

"There's a really nice drawer organizer that's probably 1/8th the price of Walmart. The cartons are great, and I really like the colors this year," she added.

Showing viewers a recommended brand of scissors, Kathryn says:

"Dollar Tree sells packs of her Post-it Notes, so be careful. She's actually a little cheaper than Walmart," she said.

Kathryn also added:

But the biggest area where Dollar Tree outperforms her Walmart is desk organizers.

"These are all at least $10 at Walmart. We have these little fun whiteboards, chalkboards, desk organizers for everything. It's a much better deal [in Dollar Tree.]"

She explained:

Walmart beats Dollar Tree when it comes to writing notebooks offering plain versions for just 50 cents.
