According to Queen of Clean, Lindsey Crombie, there is a cheap and easy solution.

She explained:  "When the liquid laundry detergent runs out, grate some soap and pour it into a spray bottle, shake it up and let it sit for an hour. It can be used as a detergent.Liquid laundry detergent. 

"This soap was only 15 pence at Tesco, so it costs peanuts.

This homemade solution requires 150ml of water and 20ml of grated soap.

She continued:

"If you leave it in the cupboard for about three months, it will last for a long time, which is very good." To get it right, experts recommend using baking soda and white vinegar.

"You can use bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar on your laundry as a laundry booster, saving you the hassle of buying expensive booster products," she said. Does not leave residue or buildup on clothes like fabric softeners.
