I was fed up with Aldi increasing their prices so drove 14 miles to check out M&S…I was totally stunned at my mega haul

A SAVVY shopper has taken to social media to show off her huge M&S food haul.

Vill Lisa revealed that she had been doing her food shopping in Aldi, but was getting fed up with the prices increasing, so decided instead to do a 14 mile round trip to M&S to check out their groceries.

She was left very impressed when shopping in the much-loved supermarket and today took to Facebook, posting pictures of her finds in the private group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, which has 2.2million members.

As she showed off her epic haul, she said: “Have been using Aldi for ages for food shopping, then got fed up with constant increases in price.

“Did some shopping in Sainsbury’s recently and got some good deals but now I'm going to M&S.

“It is a 14 mile return trip but I got so much for my money.

“This will last us about 10 days total cost £77.”

Vill shared pictures of her recent purchases, starting off with a selection of juices and squashes, including a fresh orange juice, a pineapple and grapefruit fizzy drink and a lemon squash.

She also bagged scotch eggs, a garlic and herb creamy soft cheese, two chicken and mushroom puff pastries and some onions.

Not only this, but she also picked up pancakes, soft rolls, coleslaw, and a large pack of smoked salmon, which was reduced from £5.50 down to £3.30.

As well as this, Vill stocked up on some cupboard essentials, including eggs, soups, kidney beans and baked beans.

She also made sure to nab items for her freezer too, including curly fries, chips, broad beans and frozen brussel sprouts.

The haul didn’t stop there, as Vill revealed that she also managed to get a large selection of meat, including chicken, mince and pigs in blankets.

She even picked up a big selection of reduced items too, including a garlic bread for just 79p, a cucumber for 53p, a mixed pack of vegetables for £1.34, as well as tomatoes for £1.

Vill made sure to get a large variety of fruit and vegetables too - with bananas, apples, carrots, mushrooms, oranges and green beans in her basket.

The savvy shopper even got a delicious selection of piri-piri dishes, including a spicy rice, piri-piri chicken and piri-piri chips.

At last but by no means least, Vill also managed to nab some brilliant buys from the deluxe M&S range, including chicken kievs, potato dauphinoise and cheese and ham crumpets.

One person said: “I’ve always loved Aldi but it's going up noticeably by the week.”

Another added: “I did a shop in Lidl on Thursday. £80 odd quid and not a great deal there ! Their fresh food has shot up in price. They are definitely increasing their prices weekly. Think I will give m&s ago and compare my bills.”

Meanwhile, a third commented: “I love M&S they do some brilliant deals.”

Whilst someone else noted: “Everyone thinks M&S is expensive but it really isn't and everything is good quality…”
