It was emotional - Thomas Frank celebrates Josh DaSilva's late equalizer

Brentford boss Thomas Frank made it 2-2 in the opening game of thePremier League after Josh Da Silva's late equalizer. He admitted that he was emotional after the draw.7} Leicester.

Dasilva came off the bench and scored a stunning finish in the top corner, as he pulled away from a Brentford comeback 2-0.

Frank said it was a breakthrough moment for theBees midfielder. He returned in February after being sidelined for his 18 months due to a career-threatening hip problem and subsequent hamstring injury.

Frank said:

"But after the match in the dressing room, I thought of Josh and wanted to say something nice to him.

"He was out for 18 months, so It was emotional. He's a player, someone I've worked with for four years. He's a great guy.

"He's back to the level we know him as. It's very emotional and I'm very happy for him to see him and create a great point-scoring moment.”

Fox dominated the King Power Stadium, with Thomas Castagne and A goal in either first half at the Keenan Dewsbury Hall put them on track to make it 2-0 with less than half an hour remaining.

Ivan Tony cut his deficit in the 62nd minute, igniting an unlikely Brentford counterattack before a spectacular lightning strike from Da Silva in the 86th minute.

Frank added: This group of players is amazing!

"A lot of teams wouldn't have gotten back into the game with injuries, but we were running hard.

"I think we were a good fit. was on top at the end of the game, but of course there was Josh Dasilva's fairy tale, and he was absent for 18 months.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers felt philosophical after seeing his team outperform their rivals for so long.

Juri Tielemans hit the post with a first-half deflected shot, and Wesley Fofana also hit Woodwork in the second half.

Rodgers is the only Premier League boss who hasn't strengthened his side this summer, but he's generally happy with his side's performance.

He said:

“We did something in the pre-season for five weeks, so we did a great job with the players. Yes, but we played it, and it works really well.

Rodgers played a pair of Harvey Barnes and Ricardo Pereira uninjured, the latter suffering from a torn Achilles tendon at 18 years old. Despite being sidelined for the month, Brentford's goal was a disappointment.

He added:

"At 2-1 the momentum changed and the opponents were on their way. You can throw everything, you just have to handle the ball well in that moment and control the game.”
