Decision to release Jake Paul sparring footage backfires with fans as rivals again

Jake Paul's attempt to overtake Hasim Rahman Jr. by releasing footage of the sparring session backfired. Because fans claimed it was clear the experienced boxer was taking it easy.

Paul and Rahman Jr. were embroiled in retaliation in the 2020 session after Paul pulled the plug in last weekend's fight. The two were scheduled to face off in New York last night, but the match was canceled after they were overweight.

Both had previously released clips of the sparring session before YouTube star Paul uploaded a full 20-minute video of him. He claimed he was doing it to show that he "beaten [Rahman Jr's] a**," but fans took a very different view. The other guy (Rahman Jr) doesn't even look like he's trying to do the same, only using one hand?!? said. It seems that Hashim was actually helping and giving him tips rather than a serious spar with Jake.

Another fan questioned Paul's decision to upload the footage, stating: Hardly any effort while Jake looks nervous. If that fight actually happened last night, they'd probably still be scraping Jake off the ring canvas.

Another commenter said: It's like a big brother watching out for his little brother in a video game and having his little brother show off.

A former professional fighter, Ishe Smith also voiced her opinion, endorsing Rahman Jr. Fight] MMA fighters and basketball players. Stop falling for tailpipe bananas.

Rahman Jr himself added his take, posting: Nothing but clips from this session until I start uploading my clips. As you can see,Jake Paul was surrounded by some of Bundini's best-impressing "yes men." The boy couldn't put the oranges in the box. ."
