January 6The Commission will meet for the next hearing a week after Tuesday, lawmakers have announced.
Late Tuesday afternoon, a short notice was posted on Twitter by a member of the panel. The news arrives just a week after the explosive testimony of White House official Cassidy Hutchinson was taken up at the final hearing of the Rebellion Commission.
The next hearing will focus onDonald Trumpand his ally's role in attracting thousands of Mr. Trump's supporters to the capital of the country for the day of the riot. Guess. weekend.
This will be another daytime meeting. That is, the committee will host at least one more hearing after next Tuesday. Members of the panel have promised to hold the final hearing at the best time so that more Americans can be seen.
Last week's hearing was called hours before the event, as a result of Ms. Hutchinson's appearance since the first hearing began. Committee members have publicly stated that if new witnesses emerge, they will add hearings to their schedule as needed. This is what Congressman Adam Kinzinger confirmed on Sunday since Ms. Hutchinson was screened last Tuesday.
Another member, Congressman Adam Schiff, also confirmed the scope of the following hearings in an interview with CBS'sFace the Nation over the weekend.
After Donald Trump's speech in the Ellipse on January 6th, he attacked Congress, saying, "The next hearing will focus on efforts to gather the mob." He said.
The identities of potential witnesses to the next Tuesday's hearing have not yet been announced.
However, Mr. Schiff, like Mr. Kinzinger, hinted that the Commission was following new evidence recently collected. I think those leads will lead to new testimony.
