Kemi Badenoch becomes first Tory promised top job on Liz Truss' team if she becomes prime minister

If Liz Truss becomes prime minister, Kemi Badenok will take top job, frontrunner for leader swore today.

Former candidatehas proven to be very popular with grassroots members and is the first Tory party to be promised a job in Mr Truss' government.

Ms Truss praised the former Equality Minister for the work she has done to defend women's rights.

She did not reveal any further appointments, but she claimed that if she won she would harvest all her talents on the Tory bench.
