King Charles ‘hasn’t decided’ on titles for Archie & Lilibet – ‘heightening tension’ with Meghan & Harry, expert claims

KING CHARLES "hasn't decided" which titles Prince Harry's children will be granted, according to a royal expert.

According to Roya Nikkhah, royal editor for The Times, the delay is "heightening tensions" between the new king and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As the grandchildren of the monarch, the pair would usually use prince and princess titles, but this remains up in the air due to the rift in the Royal Family over the 'Megxit' drama.

They remain listed on the line of succession, published online, without titles.

The King's spokesman said earlier this month that the document would be updated "as and when we get information".

The Sussexes are, according to Nikkah, "understood to fear the King may strip Archie and Lilibet of their titles, after his reluctance immediately to recognise their elevated status after the Queen’s death."

Royal expert Katie Nicholl also chimed in on the debate, telling True Royalty TV that the Sussex children would likely received titles if their parents could rebuild trust with Charles.

She said: "And I'm told that that is a very clear signal from the King. He's willing to give those titles, but it comes with a caveat, and that caveat is trust.

It has been reported that the contents of Prince Harry's upcoming book are key to whether or not the family will reconcile.

The tell-all book has already caused friction among the Royal Family after palace officials were apparently blindsided by the announcement that it would be published.

Also important is the content of the Netflix series about Harry and wife Meghan, that will apparently tell their "love story".

"They have to know that they can trust the [Sussex] family."

This comes after the California-based pair were said to be furious that their children would not be given HRH titles, even though they were still set to be called prince and princess.

It also follows the revelation of the Queen's heartbreaking reaction to the family split by royal insiders.

A source close to Her Majesty claimed that she was "hurt and exhausted" by the 'Megxit' saga.
