LIV Golf is "not pure evil" as Adam Scott defends rebel circuit amid war with PGA Tour

Adam Scott has leapt to the defence of LIV Golf as the row with the PGA Tour rumbles on.

Some of golf's biggest names have been lured by huge sums of money from the rebel circuit, but they have been subsequently suspended from the PGA Tour.

LIV Golf filed a lawsuit against the Tour, accusing them of antitrust violations, but the PGA hit back with an anticlaim.

Former Masters champion Scott has called on both sides of the row to move on and focus on what is best for themselves.

"Maybe because I'm a little less emotive about it, I can be a voice of reason for one side or another," he said.

"I don't necessarily see LIV as just pure evil for the game of golf.

"Hopefully we can get beyond people having shots at each other and each organisation can move on with what they want to do.

"I believe the PGA Tour has to do what's best for their product and LIV is going to do what is best for their product. I don't have a problem with either of them."

Scott, who has confirmed his participation in the Australian PGA Championship, added: "I completely understand anybody doing it.

"They have been offered an opportunity and it suits them. More power to them. I really want it to work out for them. They may or may not be taking a risk."

LIV golfers will be allowed to compete at the Australian PGA Championship in the tournament at Royal Queensland in November.
