There is still four weeks to go until the January transfer window opens but Liverpool's search for a new midfielder has only intensified in recent days.
The Reds could be taking advantage of the World Cup to look at possible targets as Jurgen Klopp tries to bolster that area in the coming window with that being their main area for concern. Arthur joined the Reds on deadline day from Juventus but the Brazilian has been ruled out until the new year through injury.
It has seen Liverpool linked with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Sofyan Amrabat - both of whom have impressed at the tournament in Qatar so far. The latter has caught the interest of several Premier League clubs following his excellent group stage campaign for Morocco, as Amrabat helped the Africans top Group F. Meanwhile, Bellingham is still reportedly at the top of the Reds' wish list.
These are the latest rumours coming out of Anfield.
Fiorentina chief on Amrabat
Fiorentina director Prade has delivered his verdict on rumours linking Sofyan Amrabat with a move to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old has started in each of Morocco's three group stage matches at the World Cup and has impressed throughout, with the Africans topping a group including Belgium and Croatia. It was a fine achievement as they defied the odds, with Amrabat playing a key role in keeping Kevin de Bruyne quiet on Sunday.
Meanwhile, with Liverpool plotting an ambitious swoop for Amrabat, Prade has revealed he has no intention to sell the player. "We want to keep Amrabat here, there’s no plan to sell him. We've [got an] option to extend his contract next year, there’s no rush - he’s part of our plans."
However, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim a pay increase could turn Amrabat's head whilst they also highlight the Champions League football on offer at Liverpool. The midfielder only earns €1.8million-a-year (£1.56m) in Florence and could receive substantially more if he were to move to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke has appeared to rule out the Liverpool manager succeeding Hansi Flick as Germany boss after they crashed out of the World Cup.
The Germans finished in third in Group F after picking up just four points from their three matches, with Japan topping the group with six points and Spain coming second on goal difference. A 4-2 win over Costa Rica on Thursday wasn't enough for Flick's side as they bowed out of the competition at the group stages once again.
Flick has come under increased criticism and his position is expected to be reviewed next week as Germany review what went wrong from their disappointing World Cup campaign. This is the second successive tournament in which the Germans have been knocked out at the group stage, having failed to progress through in 2018.

Getty Images)Klopp has been since linked with the Germany job if Flick does lose his job, however, Kosicke has seemed shut those rumours down by claiming the 55-year-old 'intends to fulfil' his Liverpool contract. Klopp signed a new two-year deal back in April, which will take him until the end of the 2025/26 campaign - his 11th season at the club.
"This is a media topic," Kosicke told Sky Germany. "Jurgen has a contract until 2026 and he intends to fulfil it."

Reds set to lose out in Laimer race
Liverpool look set to lose out in the race for RB Leipzig 's Konrad Laimer, who has his sights set on a move to Bayern Munich.
The midfielder is the latest man to be identified by those at Anfield as they eye reinforcements in the middle of the park. The Reds made enquiries in the latter stages of the summer with the player's contract running out at the end of the current campaign.
Leipzig had looked to tie Laimer down to an improved deal, but the Austrian has no desire to extend his stay with the Red Bull outfit and can sign a pre-contract come January. Bayern have put an offer, that lasts until 2027, on the table as Julian Nagelsmann looks to raid his former side once more.
Liverpool were also joined by Chelsea in the transfer race, but it looks as if both teams will miss out. Laimer did say “nothing has been decided" when quizzed on his future recently, but it looks increasingly likely that a switch to Bavaria will occur, as per Sky in Germany.
