London horror: Four injured in hit and run crash as police launch urgent hunt for driver

Four people have been injured with two fighting for their lives after being hit by a car in west London as police hunt for the driver. Officers were alerted to the horror incident on Taunton Avenue, Hounslow, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Four men in their early 20s were rushed to hospital. Two remain in a life-threatening condition and two have life-changing injuries.

Police said the driver of the car did not stop at the scene.

A Nissan Qashqai was found by officers in Hounslow shortly after the collision at 2.43am.

An urgent search for the driver is continuing. No arrests have yet been made.

A cordon is in place around Kingsley Road in Hounslow.

A spokesperson for the Met said: "Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Hounslow during which four pedestrians were struck by a car.

"Police were called at 2.43am on Sunday, 25 September, to reports of a car in collision with four pedestrians in Taunton Avenue, Hounslow.

"The four men, aged in their early 20s, were taken to hospital.

"Two remain in a life-threatening condition; the other two sustained injuries which have been assessed as life-changing.

"The driver of the car did not stop at the scene. The car, a Nissan Qashqai, was found by police in Hounslow a short time later. Urgent enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.

"No arrests have been made at this time. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing, led by detectives from the Met’s West Area CID.

"Police cordons are in place in and around Kingsley Road, Hounslow."
