The double tragedy of a long-lost family when father can't communicate with son who pursued him after heart attack

Lost Families: What Happened Next 2018.

Monday night episode of ITVdocumentary series } Long Lost Family host Davina McCall helped Pearse connect with her father, Eddie Santos, in 2018 to see her progress on the new series. But the latest episode of the spin-off revealed the double tragedy of her father and son.

In the Monday, August 8 episode of Long Lost Family: What Happened Next, Pierce will follow the heartbreaking relationship between her Egan and her father, who has been searching for her for 29 years. The scene aired.

Pearce was raised in the Republic of Ireland with her mother Anne. She met Pierce's father, Eddie, while in New York, when she was 17 and he worked as a security guard.

After her pregnancy was discovered, Anne decided to return to Ireland, where she raised Pierce.

But because of that decision, Pierce never met her father until Davina found her in 2018. She tells him she found her father Eddie.

"I want a father, look, I want to say the world. I couldn't tell anyone that," Pierce said to her. 22} Eddie flew from New York to London to see his son for the first time.

After meeting for the first time, Eddie was thrilled to connect with his son.

"We have been connected for a long time," he said.

They continued to get to know each other in London before Eddie returned to America.

Speaking to her Davina again in 2022, Pearse I said I was in touch. However, he admitted that their relationship had not been easy over the past few years.

His dad had a heart attack and later contracted coronavirus.

Eddie doesn't talk much and gets tired quickly, so when they do, Pierce does most of the talking.

"Honestly, it's one of them. I didn't know what I had until it was over," he told Davina. 37}

He was able to visit his father in person, but he told her he had been to New York "three or four times." However, he admitted that his first trip was "very emotional."

He is happy with his current relationship.

"I feel very connected, very grounded and very happy about everything," he said.

Pearse also discovered a new member of his family. He discovers that he has a half-brother, Nick Kucharski, whom he met for the first time in London during the episode.

Nick grew up in New York, but Pierce realized that his father wasn't even involved in his older brother's childhood.

This helped them connect.

"It gave me a lot of credibility to know that there are people who have gone through a similar experience to me," Nick said.

However, he explains that he holds no grudge against him, although he is not as keen on building a relationship with Eddie as Pierce.

"The friendship Nick and I have forged is unlike anything we've ever seen," Pierce says.

"Having that connection is more than I ever imagined."

Long-Lost Families: What Happened Next will follow him on ITV next Monday at 9pm.
