A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl.
The child was taken into the woods near Manchester's disused railroad tracks on Wednesday.
She is said to have been attacked near her road in Manchester, Droylsden, just before 4:00 pm.
Victims found their own way to the park before reuniting with their families.
Greater Her Manchester Police commend her for her "unfathomable bravery" in cooperating with her investigation.
She is being assisted by professional police after a "tragic" incident.
Another 35-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and interviewed before his release, but took no further action.
On Thursday a large police force was deployed in the area.
Superintendent Richard Hunt of GMP's Ashton CID said yesterday:
"While it appears to be an isolated case at this time, we reiterate our zeal to find those responsible and bring them to justice as soon as possible." All persons are encouraged to contact the officers.
